Many people have advised to strengthen and develop the core to have a six pack abs. I agree that this is half of the equation. The other half of the definition relies on your body fat percentage. You can have astounding core strength without the obvious evidence of a six pack abs.
To showcase your built muscle behind that belly fat, you need to bring your body fat percentage lower! This may seem easy, but it’s not! After a few months of extra hard work, you will start to see a difference! But if you see some uneven abs, it can be quite annoying!
It can get a little frustrating to see the uneven formation of your abdominal muscle. But, is there a way to correct it? If I do more crunches and sit-ups, will I achieve balance? What can you do to make it even? I know you are upset about it, but let’s see what we can do about it!
Is There A Way To Correct Uneven Abs?
There are three types of unevenness. Depending on the type, it may or may not be corrected. Check out which among these three types you are categorized.
- Staggered Abdominal Muscles
Unfortunately, if this is the case, there is nothing you can do about it. Your abdominal muscles did not develop asymmetrically, and you have nothing to do with it. It was already there since you were developing in the womb! This is a result of your gene composition, and you can’t change it.
In this case, the abdominal present greater on one side and lesser on the other side. There are two reasons why you get this. One is, there is an uneven distribution of adipose tissue in the belly area. The second is, there is greater development on one side.
If your upper abs present themselves more developed than the bottom, this is probably your case. If you fall under this category, congratulations! This is the easiest to fix among the three conditions! To give you some motivation, you are almost there!
Is There A Way To Correct It?
As said above, if you have staggered abs, there is just plain no way to correct it. There is no way you can do to align your abdominals correctly (I’m sorry for that!).
If you have a top to bottom inequality or lateral disproportion, there is a ton of ways to fix it! And I believe that you are just a few steps away from your six pack.
Will Exercise Give You Balanced Abs?
The plain answer is yes! Exercise can help you correct this condition! It just takes some proper knowledge on how you can improve your from when you exercise!
In fact, you may have developed this lateral disproportion due to uneven distribution of effort when exercising. I know, it’s a little hard to imagine that you have played a part for the unevenness. But hey, you can fix it!
During your core workout, simply be mindful about how you perform your routine. Try using an ab exercise machine and gently perform the exercise while carefully evaluating your form. Try observing your form and try to correct the bias. This is a bit tricky and will need your full attention in every repetition.
As much as you can, try to increase the effort on the affected side. Try relying on one side of your core rather than a full synergistic move.It may take a while to see progress. But in time, you will surely be able to balance it!
This is probably the easiest issue to address. Naturally, our body stores up energy in the form of fat that covers our body. They are located under our skins! They are called adipose tissues. In women, they are commonly stored on the arms and thighs. The male species, on the other hand, store it in the belly area.
I guess your upper abs are already peeking and you still have a bit of fat covering your belly button.
To balance this, do some exercise that burns off lots of calories. All you need to do is drive your body fat percentage lower! If you combine exercise with some limitation of carbohydrates, you can achieve it even quicker!
Just makes sure you still eating enough! Well, if you don’t your body will start metabolizing your muscles! Don’t starve yourself in the process!
I know how much effort you have placed in building your current physique. You are just a few more steps from that six pack abs, so follow a proper food regimen and stick to your training routine!
- The cause of staggered abs is genetic, and no exercise can modify or improve the shape of your abs for it to align.
- Lateral disproportion may be due to a lateral half of the core muscles to be doing more effort than the other half. Just focus on your form and adjust accordingly to the away from the bias.
